Morvedre is one of five barrios in the district of la Saïdia, Valencia's fifth district. Its southern edge is the Turia riverbed; beyond that lie El Carme and La Seu, the two barrios of the old town. Trinitat sits to the east, Marxalenes to the west, Sant Antoni to the north.
Carrer de Sagunt runs through the barrio and Avinguda de la Constitucio marks its western edge; both are main city arteries. From our three buildings on Carrer del Poeta Monmeneu and Carrer de Ruaya, the Torres de Serranos stand between roughly 400 and 700 metres away in a straight line. The Museu de Belles Arts is under a kilometre, on the other side of the river.
Old town without the noise
El Carme is loud at night and Morvedre is not. You are close enough to walk over the Serranos bridge for dinner and back again, but the streets around Poeta Monmeneu and Ruaya belong to the people who live on them.
Park on your doorstep
The Turia gardens run along the barrio's southern edge. The stretch beside Morvedre, tramo 6, carries football pitches, a softball and baseball stadium, a skate park, petanque courts and a dog run, with plane trees and false acacias over the paths.
Close together, not shared
Our five apartments here sit in three buildings a few hundred metres apart. That suits a family who would rather each have their own front door than share one, without ending up on opposite sides of the city.

Getting around
Metrovalencia's tram line 4 is the closest rail service. The Sagunt stop sits within about 300 metres of all three buildings, with Pont de Fusta a little further, and the line runs east through Benimaclet to Doctor Lluch in the Cabanyal.
For the airport, change at Benimaclet to line 3, which terminates at Aeroport. EMT buses 6, 16 and 26 run along Avinguda de la Constitucio and Carrer de Sagunt; line 98 stops on Carrer de Ruaya itself; line 95 passes Pont de Fusta. On foot, the Serranos bridge takes you straight into the old town.

Questions about staying here
How far is Morvedre from the Torres de Serranos and the old town?
Our three buildings sit between roughly 400 and 700 metres from the Torres de Serranos in a straight line. The towers are the gate into Ciutat Vella, so the old town starts on the other side of them.
Is Morvedre quiet at night?
It is a residential barrio rather than a nightlife one. The bars and clubs of El Carme are across the riverbed, close enough to reach on foot but far enough that the noise stays there.
How do I get from Valencia airport to Morvedre?
Metrovalencia lines 3 and 5 both run from Aeroport station into the city. Take line 3 to Benimaclet and change to tram line 4, which stops at Sagunt and Pont de Fusta in the barrio.
Can I get to the beach from here?
Yes. Tram line 4 runs from Pont de Fusta and Sagunt to Doctor Lluch, its terminus in the Cabanyal, stopping at Platja de les Arenes and Platja Malva-rosa on the way.
What is there to do in the Turia park near Morvedre?
The section beside the barrio, tramo 6, runs between the Sant Josep and Trinitat bridges. It holds several football pitches, a softball and baseball stadium, a skate park, petanque courts and a dog run.
Which barrio is this officially?
Morvedre, one of five barrios in the district of la Saïdia, also written La Zaidia. Most visitors will not see that name on a map, so search instead for the area north of the Torres de Serranos.
